Soul cleansing nocturne

  When ever i need to calm down and find peace, I listen to this song. The melody smoovely invokes the inner me, cleanses my mind, refreshing it. Being an anxious brat who can't sit still or have a cleared mind for even a slightest instant, this piece is a treasured remedy.  

  When ever I am troubled with an inner turmoil, or just emotionlessly empty, I listen to this song. Notes of it form a deeply touching river of feelings in me, making my eyes wet. Being an offshore who only fit in apparently, how desperate I needed to feel secure.

  Needless to say, along with the joy of listening, plentiful of realization and self-acknowledgement came along, helping me to find solace when most needed. This piece is more than simply music, it is a living, a soul that brightens others. One can only admire the greateness of Chopin and thank him for creating such a gem.

Solitude

Succeed and give, and it helps you live,

    But no man can help you die.

There is room in the halls of pleasure

    For a large and lordly train,

But one by one we must all file on

    Through the narrow aisles of pain.

      I first came across this poem when viewing the film Oldboy, the main character Oh Dae-Su quoted the first two verses when he was kept in solitude. They made me realize how low life can get if you spend the most of it mouring. After reading the hole poem some time later, I understood it's full message. Life is about living the most and the best of it. 'Fast, and the world goes by', no matter how we live it, we will always ' all file on through the narrow aisles of pain'. So live it happily, live it smiling and always keep in mind: carpe diem. 

Dedicado àquelas tardes de verão

  Quem não gosta das tardes de verão? Ver  o pôr do sol ao lado da praia, sentir a brisa do mar e perder-se num horizonte dourado. Tirei esta fotografia na praia de paço d'arcos no início deste verão e ainda me lembro claramente da vista naquele dia: o céu estava loiro, as nuvens manchavam o seu rosto como sardas claras, estava belo e transmitia saúde. Lentamente descia o último brilho antes das estrelas, relutante ao despedir. O mar permanecia remanso, os barcos deslizavam silenciosamente, sem o perturbar. Há quem diga que o mundo seja mais belo nos dias de verão, e é por isso que o sol cá fica mais um pouco cada dia, atraído por esta maravilhosa mudança, incapaz de deixar de olhar, como um adolescente incapaz de tirar os olhos do seu amado. Mas aos poucos ele retira-se, E os seres do verão adormecem. Apenas os mais atrevidos se mantém acordados. À luz roubada da lua, festejam e esperam por mais um dia, que esses sejam para sempre.

Listen to the last waltz...

  Oldboy by  Chan-wook Park is one of my favourite films, the visuals are amazing and the story is intrigingly good. The last waltz is one of the songs that appears in the film, I won´t coment on it, I 'll just begg you to listen, the feeling is incredible.

A fresh start

  Criei este blog para partilhar o que me vem ao encontro: poemas, textos, fotografias, videos, músicas, etc. Tanto criados por mim como encontrados por aí. Nunca senti esta necessidade de me expressar de um modo sistemático e com registo, até há pouco. Apercebi me de que o que nos emocionam passam por nós numa velocidade extrema. Para os aproveitar ao máximo é preciso não só vivê-los, mas também guardá-los para recordar no futuro. A vantagem de fazer esse registo num blog em relação aos outros métodos é a sua flexibilidade e facilidade, para não falar na possibilidade de ser visível para quem está interessado.
